Start Date: Begins in the 2027/2028 school year
Subject Areas: We are seeking a teacher to teach business and entrepreneurship courses beginning in the 2027-28 school year.
Location: Avail Academy High School
Classification: Part-time or Full-time (Depending on candidate)
Reports to: Campus Principal

PURPOSE
To conduct instructional classes in business and entrepreneurship in accordance with the Mission Statement, philosophy, and curriculum of Avail Academy. The teacher creates an engaging, Christ-centered learning environment that promotes academic growth, spiritual and character development, and personal responsibility. This role is specifically designed for a business professional or entrepreneur looking to make a life change by investing their real-world expertise into students to help them discover their God-given purpose.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Professional Community: Establish professional relationships with parents, students, and colleagues, maintaining consistent communication and participating in staff development and school-related duties.

Real-World Integration: Plan and deliver lessons that align with school curriculum and state standards while integrating practical business perspectives and community resources.

Crown College/PSEO Collaboration: Act as a course assistant for PSEO (Post-Secondary Enrollment Options) business classes in partnership with Crown College, facilitating college-level coursework for high school students.

Instructional Strategies: Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill Avail’s curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences, including compliance with Individual Service Plans (ISP) and 504 plans.

Student Growth: Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments of student achievement and cultivate an atmosphere that promotes a flourishing faith life for each student.

Classroom Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students; supervise students in both classroom and non-classroom settings.

POSITION SPECIFIC DESCRIPTORS
Entrepreneurial Background: Seeking an individual with significant experience working in business or as an entrepreneur who is ready to transition into a mentorship and teaching role.

Course Load: Responsible for teaching 3–4 classes per year.

Faith Leadership: Must be an active member of a church whose teaching is consistent with the precepts of Avail and demonstrate a maturing relationship with Christ.

Professional Qualifications: Candidates must hold appropriate education from an accredited institution and current teaching licensure (or a willingness to obtain licensure).

Organizational Support: Maintain all required reports and records while using existing systems for payroll and absence requests.

Position Specific

  • Appropriate education from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure in the area of employment.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and nurture children well.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
$36,980-$75,217. Actual salary based on the candidate’s education and experience, prorated based on FTE %.

Benefits for full-time faculty include medical, dental, life, AD&D, and an optional retirement plan.
